Why SVG beats PNG for QR codes
An SVG QR code is a vector image, so instead of a grid of pixels, the image is defined by a precise set of lines and shapes. That means it can scale to any size without losing its crisp edges, and the file can stay small and efficient. For QR codes, the sharp image provided by vector graphics makes scanning the code more reliable.
Use the file anywhere
SVG files are supported by almost all graphics applications and render natively in web browsers. The downloaded SVG opens directly in Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape, Canva, and page-layout software. Place it in print projects at any size, color it to match your brand assets, or drop it straight into a website. For a transparent background, select the option on the Background tab.
Real vector output, not a wrapped bitmap
Some generators export an “SVG” that is just a raster image pasted into an SVG wrapper. Here the download is genuine vector markup, optimized to produce a compact, efficient, and crisp image. Click View SVG source under the builder to see for yourself. Choose “contour” instead of “stamped” body modules for the smallest SVG files.
SVG or PNG?
